Cary Printing has released its first quarter environmental savings for 2008. Cary Printing produces a quarterly “eco-audit” to verify the environmental savings in multiple categories affiliated in the printing industry. This eco-audit is shared with clients and the industry to demonstrate how Cary Printing continues to be an eco-friendly business.

Cary Printing utilized 611,205 pounds of certified paper, saved 229 full grown trees, saved 219,710 pounds of wood, saved 410,815 gallons of water, reduced landfill waste by 46,940 pounds, saved net greenhouse emissions by 112,968 pounds, and reduced energy consumption by 755,651,138 BTU. Cary Printing vice president of sales and marketing Mark Bryant stated “Cary Printing is proud of the environmental savings that our business is contributing and we continue to educate clients and employees on the differences that can be achieved through sustainability practices. Cary Printing does not ask its clients to do something that Cary Printing would not do themselves.”

The eco-audit that was referred to earlier is a tool that is included with every estimate or quote that is given to a client. This eco-audit estimates the environmental impact that a particular print job has based on an aggregate of the leading environmental paper-use calculators used in the printing industry.
